The Hyatt Hill Country in San Antonio is another one of my absolute favorite hotels. This hotel is so family-friendly. Throughout the day, they have all sorts of activities for kids. Most of the craft activities are free, but the most the activities cost are $5. Be sure to bring your children’s bike, as there are plenty of places where they can ride their bikes or scooters. If you forget or don’t have room to haul their bikes, no worries….they offer bicycles of different sizes that are free and available for you to use around the grounds. They also have a movie night on the lawn, where they give out blankets and you can spread your family across the lawn. They give out popcorn and they have a fire going nearby where they help your kids make s’mores.
This hotel has a couple of restaurants on the property. Antler’s Lodge has some of the best nachos I’ve ever eaten (yum!). And they have a few tables outside where you can eat and watch the kids on the playground. This hotel also offers a ‘kids camp’ where you can send your kids for 3 to 7 hours, which is nice if you want to spend some quality time with grownups. They do crafts with the kids and take them adventuring around the hotel…and they feed them.
They also have an amazing water area for kids, which they have recently expanded to 5 acres! I have not yet gone back to see the new expansion, but I’ll be going at the end of May and will be posting another review. Also new to this property is the addition of cabanas, which everyone knows I LOVE. I’m so excited to try these out. And…they have a lazy river, which is a must if I’m staying at a hotel with kids! This hotel is located about a mile from Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch, and when you stay at one of these hotels, you have access to the other. Hyatt Hill Country can get busy and it’s busting with activities, Wild Oak Ranch is a lot quieter. So if you get to the point where you need something a little quieter, you can always travel to their sister property. They also have a spa, and tailored spa treatments for children 🙂
This hotel is also very close to Sea World San Antonio, so if you’re looking to venture off of the property and go other places, this hotel is situated on the right side of town. If downtown San Antonio is more your thing, it will be a 15-20 minute drive to the Riverwalk. It’s about 2 hours to Fredricksburg, Texas if you’re looking for something to do off the beaten path.
HINT: If you have children, the rooms on the ground level is the place to be! Every time we stay here, we throw the kids on the lawn and watch them from the patio drinking wine 🙂 It doesn’t get much better than this…
