Kelly tweaked this from a Paula Dean recipe. Everyone at work loves this soup. We throw everything together at the beginning of our shift and then munch on it all day.
- 1 bag frozen hash browns
- 1 package of Chappel Hill sausage, diced (optional)
- 1 cup of chopped bacon (she cheats and uses a packet of real bacon pieces)
- 28 oz chicken broth
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup chopped onion (I cheat and use frozen chopped onion)
- 1/3 tsp black pepper
Top with shredded cheddar cheese and serve.
Combine all ingredients in crock pot and cook on low for 5 hours. Stir in 8 oz of block of cream cheese and continue to cook for 30 minutes.
